20 Fenchurch Street is one of London’s most eagerly anticipated development projects thanks to celebrated architect Rafael Viñoly’s innovative design.
The 160m high building flares outwards from its base so that the larger floorplates are to be found at the higher storeys, delivering both impressive architecture and more efficient office space than many of its neighbours. The distinctive shape of the building, has earned it the nick-name, the “Walkie Talkie”.
The successful intergration of decking into the scheme was intergral to the rapid erection of the steel frame, which rose at the rate of a floor per week.
